Lake Waubeeka is probably best known for its wonderful summer season, but our community is glorious all year long.  In autumn, there’s a dazzling display of fall foliage everywhere. And our winters are prime time for beautiful views of clear skies and snow (sometimes LOTS of it).

Our maintenance crew deserves many thanks for their tireless work during the colder months.  Their leaf collecting and snow plowing efforts are essential to keeping our community safe and pristine.

Leaf Collection

When gathering autumn leaves for collection by our maintenance staff, please keep these points in mind:

  • If you’ve prepared a big pile of leaves at curbside for pick-up, please make sure that it doesn’t block the road.
  • Grass clippings can be left at curbside in a separate plastic bucket or container.
  • Please separate piles of brush (twigs, etc.) and leaves as much as possible.
  • We strongly discourage all residents from dumping leaves and grass clippings into our lake.  This natural compost adds unnecessary nutrients to the water that use up precious oxygen as they decompose.
  • Avoid placing compost like leaves and grass clippings too close to the storm drains in our roads.

Snow Removal

Because the crew often plows snow on community roads, please do not park on the roads during the winter months, especially when a storm is anticipated.  If you need a temporary place to park your car when snow is forecast, you may use either the Post Road Beach parking lot or the parking area behind the Community House.

The Lake Waubeeka Association Rules State:

Residences

  1. All residents are responsible for removing snow and ice from their driveways and walkways.

Yard Debris

  1. Grass clippings must be in a bucket for pickup.
  2. Brush must be cut into nothing greater than 4-foot lengths.
  3. Do not put piles on top of road drainage grates or catch basins.
  4. Brush and leaf piles must be separated.
  5. Piles need to be on road surface not on curb or property.
  6. Material bundled with twine is acceptable.
  7. If you choose to bag your organic material (twigs, brush, etc.) you must use paper, not plastic.
  8. Any “yard debris” that does not comply with the above list will NOT be picked up and the homeowner will be given a notice of violation. Upon a 2nd notice, the homeowner will be called to a hearing and a fine will be determined.

Vehicles and Traffic

  1. Because the LWA plows snow on community roads, vehicles should not be parked on them during the winter months. The LWA is not responsible for snowplow damage to any vehicle parked along a roadway.
