Water
Your water is supplied by Lake Waubeeka’s own artesian wells. The water is pumped to a steel tank at the highest point of Carol Street. The water is tested monthly and meets State specifications. If your water lateral (the pipe which is connected from the main to your outdoor shut-off) is ruptured, the community will dig it up, repair it at the homeowner’s expense, and backfill it. If the lateral from the shut-off to the house is ruptured, we will also repair it at the homeowner's expense.
Garbage
Curbside garbage is collected on Monday mornings year-round. A Thursday collection day is added during July and August. Recyclable items (paper, cardboard, glass, selected plastics and metal cans) should be placed in clear or blue plastic bags. These are picked up on Mondays only. Dumpsters are located in the parking area behind the Community House. These should be used only for garbage disposal, not for construction material, furniture, or other non-garbage material.
Snow Removal
The resident caretaker plows and sands all our community roads. Homeowners are responsible for snow removal on their own property, including driveways. Community snow removal is more efficient when vehicles are parked off the road during winter months. We urge residents to take appropriate precautions during winter months, such as using snow tires and reducing speed.
Septic Systems
Each home is serviced by its own septic system. Your septic tank should be pumped every two years to extend its effectiveness and useful life. The cost and responsibility for maintaining a functioning septic system rests entirely with the homeowner. Please keep in mind that an overflowing system poses a serious health hazard not only to you, but to the entire community.
Pets
For the protection of your pet and the safety of the community, pets should be kept on a leash (unless they are in the fenced dog run area near the ball field) and should not be allowed to roam freely outdoors. Pet owners should respect others’ privacy and property. Please keep your pet from unnecessary barking, and don’t forget to "scoop the poop."
Community Information
The Waubeekan, our community newsletter, is distributed monthly during the summer months, as well as sporadically throughout the year. You may also receive special notices from the Board of Directors on occasion. Look for bulletins posted at the guard house, athletic fields, and beaches, as well as online.
